Friendly Short Story Challenge #6

Challenge #6
Genre: Player’s Choice
Subject: Something goes wrong on a hike
Max Length: 3000 words
Due: 3/17Suggestions for what to do: Jason, wearing his Vest of Holding, said he could help out should anyone break their leg on the hike. It had space for a water bottle, snacks, he had first aid stuff, a radio, a Swiss Army knife, and more that I didn’t see. So maybe someone gets hurt, and you’re either prepared, or not. Maybe a mugging? We heard gunshots in the distance (or what I thought were gunshots), so maybe a murder? Have fun! I have my idea, and hope to complete my own challenge for your enjoyment.

My interpretation of “something goes wrong on a hike” is pretty loose for this one. But I had an idea last night and ran with it. It’s short and sweet(?). Hope you enjoy!

My original idea fell apart, but I managed to come up with something. I didn’t want to fail to complete my own challenge. I hope to see others pushing one out, too, but understand if the creative juices didn’t get flowing for this one. Enjoy

@dlrosa-jessica I like this. It hits home; I’ve written a story called “The Stump” that speaks to a particular dead tree at my grandparents’ former home. Well done.

@rckthewriter “Invisible trombone out of my rear.”
Fun story.

@tiffany567 “Trust me. I’m a wilderness first responder.” Mmmhmm. :P
I liked this story.
